Chiropractor Sharpsburg GA - Resveratrol’s Healing Powers

Resveratrol

In this video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information from today’s news looking at resveratrol and its anti-aging and disease-fighting powers.

Resveratrol is part of a group of compounds called polyphenols designed to increase life span.

It is found in grape skins, red wine, raspberries, pomegranates, raw cacao, dark chocolate, and other plant-based foods.

One of the greatest advantages of resveratrol is that it works as an antioxidant fighting off free radicals which causes disease and a compromised immune system.  It also helps fight the aging process in your cells and skin.

According to the Georgetown University Medical Center, Resveratrol may improve brain function and cognitive decline in Alzheimer patients.

Due to its capabilities as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, resveratrol may  play a crucial role in combating  diseases including asthma, arthritis, Crohn’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and Parkinson’s disease.

Resveratrol, by reducing inflammation, lowers LDL or "bad" cholesterol, and make it more difficult for clots to form that can lead to a heart attack.

Resveratrol, by lowering inflammation, prevents certain enzymes from forming that promote the development of cancerous tumors.

Resveratrol, may protect nerve cells from damage and fight the plaque buildup that can lead to Alzheimers.

Resveratrol helps prevent insulin resistance, a condition in which the body becomes less sensitive to the blood sugar-lowering hormone insulin. The condition can lead to diabetes.

Researchers believe that resveratrol activates the SIRT1 gene. That gene is believed to protect the body against the effects of obesity

Resveratrol just may be that fountain of youth promoting good health, slowing down the aging process and keeping the body’s cells, inside and out, looking young and healthy.
